Oooh I’m so excited about these! The descriptions made me immediately think of the book Rhyme Crime by Jon Burgerman. It’s about a thief who, when he steals things, replaces them with something that rhymes with the stolen object. Hilarity ensues. My kids love it and so do I.
Also want to add, I’ve gone to Medieval Times as a child and went a few years ago and honestly it really does bring out your inner child. I had such a great time and got so into it. I hope you have a blast and your knight wins!
Honestly: I AM SO INTO IT. I kind of wasn't at first, but then yesterday I was telling my boss I'd booked tickets and realized I was...jumping up and down? HAHA.
I must put both of these on my library list STAT! For so many reasons like how rhyming is our favorite game, or how I’m a little sister and there’s a little sister in our little family who loves to add to the adventure…but also because I snort laughed at breakfast from the excerpt included about forgetting how to rhyme. In junior high a friend either made the best joke or was actually accidentally hilarious when she said “I’m a poet and I didn’t even….realize I was!” I’ve laughed about that moment my whole life and here someone has made that moment into a kids book. 💕
Ooooh this also makes me think of I'm Just No Good At Rhyming, too. One of the few books I've picked up that really brought me back to some classic Shel Silverstein feels.
Yes! Such a good one. (Have you read his newest, My Head Has a Bellyache: And More Nonsense for Mischievous Kids and Immature Grown-Ups? I literally laughed out loud. Harris is fantastic.)
Both of these books sound so fun! The titles remind me of NOTHING RHYMES WITH ORANGE, though it sounds like the stories are different. Gonna go check for them at my library!
I definitely want to get my hands on these books. Especially the second one. I love that it is written by a Palestinian and illustrated by an Eygptian. Very refreshing to see as an Arab illustrator myself. Thank you for giving it a review!
Love a rhyming book. Our favorites are this New Zealand series called Hairy Maclary about a bunch of dogs (we are not a dog-loving family, but we still quote these books all the time). Have you read them?
I immediately requested Chester Van Chime after receiving this last week, and have had the absolutely BEST TIME reading it with my first grade classes this week. Squeals of laughter! Thank you for introducing me to this gem.
Reporting in that Chester van Chime is a hit! Claire loves to guess the word Chester can't remember and I love the reminder of Dory in the illustrations (a favorite of mine, if not of the kids). Thanks, Sarah!

I don't know that one! Will have to check it out.
It’s great! (Spoiler alert) the thief gets caught when he tries to steal an orange 😆
Both of these are new to me and I’m excited to check them out!

His talent is incredible.
We have My Head has a Bellyache out from the library now and are loving it!
This is so much fun! I love a rhyming book. These are both new to me.
I'm so glad!

Yes! I was happy to see that, too — especially since it’s such a fun read.
These books sound adorable!
Also, I'm going to not-hot Toronto for my Spring Break :)
Fun! Enjoy yourself.

I have! Slinky Malinki is my favorite character 😹
Hercules Morse, as big as a horse! Those books make me laugh.
