I feel like every time you mention picture books being for everyone, I repeat my wish of taking a rainy or snowy afternoon and drinking endless cups of tea, in a pile of picture books, silently reading with you.
Absolutely agree re preachiness in picture books, I see them every time I go to the library. They're super boring to read and no one likes being hit over the head with a message (even when it's one you agree with!).
