I have far too many Halloween books already (is that even possible?) and now Iβm adding more to that collection. Mummies! Pirate Halloween books! Just when I think youβve covered all of the wonderful spooky books out there, youβve done it again!
Not possible -- the limit does not exist. (And if you feel bad about this, the next time you're at my house, I will SHOW you how many I have and you will feel light and free and unburdened π)
I'm such a fan of Philip Yates (his rhyme is sublime) and G. Brian Karas, what a team! Thanks for the heads up I'll find this one for sure, and love the other suggestions, too. Would love to recommend Frank Was a Monster Who Wanted to Dance and Creepy Carrots as two other fan favorites for Halloween. Thanks, as always, for the suggestions.
Yes! Just requested all of these that are new to me and it is great reminder to get my (overflowing) bin of Halloween books out. Too Many Pumpkins is one of my all-time favorites.
Halloween is a holiday that, prior to having children, I completely ignored. I'd turn the lights off and either hide and watch a movie or go out to dinner. I've done a 180 since having kids and I LOVE this entire month.
I kind of think a poop would be hilarious. Is it too late to revert? ;)
We have a green butterfly and, no surprise, a Taylor Swift (Reputation era), which has me sewing many red sequin snakes onto a figure skating unitard. The things we do...
...all go into the love tank, and matter so much more than we know (and probably feel, especially in the moment, you sewing all those sequins, me over here ready to make a poop costume come true π)
Oh, one book recommendation that my kids immediately grabbed from the Halloween bin and (I think) I initially learned about from my eldest's kindergarten teacher: Twelve Haunted Rooms of Halloween. I sing/read it to the tune of the Twelve Days of Christmas. Great for younger kids learning to count, too.
This is so delightful and your familyβs costume ideas cracked me up π These books look great and that Frankenstein sandwich one sounds like a hoot. You brought many smiles with this newsletter β₯οΈ
Hi! Have you heard of The Skull by Jon Klassen? Or There's a Ghost in this House by Oliver Jeffers? Both would be great additions to the Halloween book list!
I love Halloween too-itβs so fun! π
Just placed holds at my library for Ten Little Mummies and Too Many Pumpkins. Thanks for this amazing list!
You're welcome -- enjoy!

Ooooh, I donβt know this one. Thank you!
Frankenstein Makes a Sandwich! OMG! We read it this morning and we all LOVED it. It's so funny and clever and I'm buying it now.
Iβm so glad. Iβm a total evangelist for that book β itβs so funny.

I aim to please π (Am truly glad, though, if I made you smile.)

Hi Ginny β I know of both but havenβt had a chance to check them out. Thanks for the additions!
You absolutely must check out Ghosts in the House! by Kazuno Kohara
I donβt know that one; thanks!
