Good luck with the work stuff! This post has perfect timing. We're currently potty training. Pee is going very well without any accidents. Poop in the toilet... not so much! My son will watch and ask "What you got in there? You has pee or poop?" lol
I KNEW Taro Gomi’s book would have to make this list. 💩🤩 Another book I love by a Japanese author on a poop-adjacent topic is The Gas We Pass: The Story of Farts by Shinta Chō.
During a visit to the Mt. Horeb Library (forever a beacon of hope and comfort), the littlest one asked the very helpful children's librarian for the section of books on poop and pee. What a delight!
We are slowly gearing up to start potty training this summer so this post was perfect timing. I'm taking this list to the library this weekend to stock up on more poop/pee books!
"Everyone Poops" was my kids' favorite poop book for many years! (Adjacent were the titles in the 'set' (different authors): "The Holes in Your Nose", "Your Bellybutton", and "All About Scabs" lol
I’m excited to put these on hold at the library! Do you know about “The P Word A Manual for Mammals “ by David Hu.
It combines information about the male urinary track system and reproductive system. Great factoids about how much various animals pee and how fast. My eight-year-old really enjoyed it.
Oh my gosh, how timely as I potty train AND woke up this morning to pee and poop in the kitchen courtesy of our senior dog 😭 Had to laugh when I say the title of this newsletter!
Ha! Potty talk always brings a laugh in my household right now, so this list is perfect for us. A recent question from my oldest, “Does Taylor Swift fart?” 🤣
Tee hee, this is such a fun issue! Sharing this with my friends who have a science-lovin', poop-gigglin' 5-year-old who will absolutely get a kick out of any one of these books.
I think this is the fastest I've ever "added to cart"! Thanks for the great recommendations, so many of these are perfect for my poop obsessed 3 year old.
Ha! This is delightful! I really want to read the one about London’s poop pollution problem.
The Great Stink is a good one! My daughter was enthralled with it haha.

Oh, I don’t know this one! I’ll have to see if I can get my hands on it.
yes! I missed that one in my list. I must have loaned it out..... lol
Ha! What an awesome list. And I absolutely LOVE Mary Roach's books!
I’ll read anything she writes, on any topic.
knew I was in good company here! I also love her books!

Happy 2nd day of your gold-shoes work!!
This is what I’m going to call my job from now on: “gold-shoes work” 😂
lol
Ahaha, believe it or not, I often don’t like poo/pee books — which is ironic due to the title of my debut 😂 But I can’t wait to dive into your list!
Also have you read the picture book POO BUM? It isn’t really about poo but it is one of my favorites.
I have not but the title is COMPELLING 😂
Seriously, it is hilarious and so clever. The twist at the end is genius. Here is an online read aloud of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrQI3wk_uUk

I don’t! Thank you.
