I love this curation. Have you read What Color is the Wind by Anne Herbauts? It’s the most beautiful book I have ever read in my life and fits with this theme absolutely!

I don't know that one but I just looked it up and it looks gorgeous -- going to see if my library system has it now. Thank you!

Some we love, some I’ve never seen, always a win from your lists. We love Mouse Paint and Freight Train for board books! I’ve gotta check out these two. Also, sorry for your hard moments that are leaving you so tired. Thanks for still showing up for us book lovers. Hope the dust settles around you soon and leaves you feeling accomplished.

This is the perfect list! And hope you were able to get some rest this past week. It's pretty clear you do your best to show up for everyone in your life (including the thousands of us). Hope you got some time to recharge your battery too.

This is such a great list, and reminds me of my best friend who only liked "yellow books" when she was little. (She read lots of Curious George). And thank you always for being so open and honest and wishing peace and rest and comfort to you and yours in the weeks to come!

Beautiful list, and beautiful post! And as someone with a lifelong chronic illness, i relate very much. Until you can get to the time of deep rest, find as many mini-rest moments as you can in the day. ❤️‍🩹 And keep skipping posts and dropping balls.

My daughter loves the book "Red is Best" and while it only focuses on the colour red, it made me consider everyone's special relationship with a special colour in their life and to the great lengths we go to surround ourselves with that colour. She now tells people her favourite colour is purple by saying, "Purple is my best" and I think that's just such a funny, unique way of expressing that, thanks entirely to Kathy Stinson's book.

the little golden book Colors Are Nice is one of the very few books that transport me back to the floor next to the bookshelf in my childhood home. can't wait to add a few of your picks to our family library. also, THANK YOU for talking about how complicated marriage and people and life and all things are. i cannot voice what an angelic effect this post had on me.

Brown Bear, Brown Bear has been a solid favorite in our house for years now. I’ve read it so many times that the reading has gotten increasingly more dramatic as time goes on. Like, LOTS of sudden crescendo. Makes for a thrilling read alright.

Wishing you clarity, comfort, and lots and lots more color moving forward.

A classic! My youngest recites it from memory to her stuffies on the regular.

You've got this, Sarah.... whatever "this" is this week.

I'll add one my kids love, "The Color Monster", which is a story about emotions as well as colors and a pop-up to boot so great for younger kiddos.
