The Zabar's catalog came last week and I was nearly in tears. I then had to recycle it because it was so good and overwhelming that I couldn't even manage to look at all of the joy and bounty on those pages. A literal feast of the eyes.

I feel like I could write a pretty decent comparative lit essay on the Nueske's vs Zabar's catalog 😉 Matt and I decided to order a ham for Christmas Day (+ smoked liver sausage because I deserve it!), and then we used it as inspiration to brainstorm our own gift baskets for the holidays, substituting local (okay well, even MORE local than Nueske's) items. Don't know when you're heading out to N's, but Mt. Horeb's first winter farmer's market is this Saturday...

It’s the Zingerman’s catalog for me. It came yesterday and I considered putting it in the recycling immediately because I wasn’t sure I could even handle opening it

Thank you for sharing the reminder to operate with more care. What a wonderful way to put it. I'm also reminded to (re)read Anne Lamott (I think she's pretty amazing) - I saw her a talk once many years ago and one of the first things she told all us writers in the audience was to invest in a good chair :-) Take good care of yourself Sarah!

Reading in reverse chronological order, so here’s hugs in advance for whatever you wrote about the day before this that I don’t know about yet. And I am grateful for you! I love the book recs (The Big Pets looks beautiful) but I’m in it for your writing and this intro is beautiful. Thank you for being you and thank you for sharing you
