Thank you, my dear (and thank you for noticing)! I’ve written far more than 100 issues — when you factor in all the special editions and other issues I don’t include in the “count” — but it’s still a nice number 😋
My mother in law shared loads of titles my husband enjoyed in conversation recently and i sat there with my library app, reserving them for my son. He’s 5 and most he’s outgrown, so who knows why she didn’t share this earlier, but it’ll be nice for my husband to reminisce as he reads.
Oh, I love this, Coree. (And who knows, maybe some of the ones you think your son has outgrown will surprise you -- my kids, 6 and 8, still enjoy some board books, so you really just never know.)
That sounds great! Sorry - I should have clarified! Must be sleep-deprived!
Can you recommend any books about food - cooking, preparing, sharing, food! I'm looking for books that increase positive language and associations around food!
Judging from your own Substack, I assume you’re most interested in titles for babies and toddlers… my favorite board books celebrating food are Rah, Rah, Radishes! and Go, Go, Grapes!, both by April Pulley Sayre. The realistic photos are interesting for little ones, and they’re really well-written, full of rhythmic language that’s pleasant to read again and again.
And my all-time favorite book about cooking and being in the kitchen — which is a huge, surefire hit with the 3-5yo crowd — is Bee-Bim Bop by Linda Sue Park. I can’t think of this book without smiling.
Happy issue number 100!

Thank you for continuing to introduce us to books new and old. I love ALL books by Mem Fox and Nancy Patz!
What a lovely comment, Cara — thank you 💚
Adding a few of these to my list to look for next time we go to the library!
Yay! I love to hear that — and hope you enjoy them!
me too!
Can’t tell you how happy this makes me!

I want to get that Barnes and noble book *today*
It's totally worth buying (especially since it's ~$5 used, at least on Thriftbooks).
I love Marla Frazee so much! I'll definitely check out these this week!
I do tooooooooo! She's one of my top three favorite illustrators.
Love these recommendations! Can I request books about feeding kids or food?!
Thanks, Dahlia! And thanks for the request — can you say more about “books about feeding kids?”
I do have a mini issue on cooking and baking in the works, coming out in June or July…

Immediately placed on hold at the library! So excited! Thank you so much! And yes, we are very much in the baby and toddler world right now :)
Yay! I’d love to hear what you think of any/all of them.
