Happy Tuesday!
Here are ten titles floating around in my mish-mash world of lists of all kinds. Enjoy!
This week’s Ten Titles, never in any particular order:
Caroline’s Comets: A True Story by Emily Arnold McCully
Jackie Wins Them All by Fabian E. Ferguson
The All-Together Quilt by Lizzy Rockwell
The Buffalo Storm by Katherine Applegate
Let’s Talk About Body Boundaries, Consent & Respect by Jayneen Sanders (I will review this if it is good)
Mammoth Science: The Big Ideas That Explain Our World by David Macaulay
Ways to Make Sunshine (A Ryan Hart novel) by Renée Watson
I Have Heard of a Land by Joyce Carol Thomas
Going West by Jean Van Leeuwen
The Most Beautiful Thing by Kao Kalia Yang
Here’s a treasure trove for you: I recently discovered the nonprofit organization SocialJusticeBooks.org and it’s 110% worth digging into. Their booklists are the most robust I’ve seen, especially in terms of range of topics, and do not miss their Guide for Selecting Anti-Bias Children’s Books — it’s hands-down the clearest and most concise information I’ve found regarding assessing individual titles and your overall library through an anti-bias lens.
What are you reading with the children in your life right now? Anything great I should know about?
Read good books and take good care 😘
Godspeed for that winter battle!
The ones that we are going through (daily) :
Zen Pig & The Art of Gratitude, I love you through and through, I love you to the moon and back and ABC of kindness.
And my favorite of them all : "There's a bear on my chair" by Ross Collins!
Looking forward to reading some of your recommendations! My library came in with the pickup notice for the following that I can't wait to get my hands on :
I believe I can
Little Poems for Tiny Ears : poems
