Yay for a break! I look forward to hearing from you when you're ready to come back. I've been reading your work a long time and appreciate it so much (the number of excellent books you've brought into my + my kids' lives!) but also love how human you are behind that work. Go be "just" a human for a little while (with, you know, your paid job and motherhood and all that jazz) and we'll see you on the other side. - An Internet Stranger and Supporter in Georgia

Just want to say that as a devoted reader and fan, I very much cheer for and support this! Love yourself, take care of yourself, have some ice cream, please!

Sending you love as you navigate this. And yes -- this is a reminder that breaks are important, they are necessary. You have a lot of people in your corner, and I will be thinking of you. Take care of yourself. <3

Sending appreciation and peace to you. You’ve always provided something so special here—folks will definitely still be here if/when you decide to come back. For now I hope you give yourself the love you’ve given to us and our families all these years. 💕

I’m so glad that you’re prioritizing you. Your lessons and insight on reading and books are invaluable. But your lessons on navigating the full gamut of life’s challenges and prioritizing yourself are equally important to us as readers. I personally struggle with the simple words of saying “no” as a complete sentence. I know you will find your way through all of this and admire your strength. Sending you all the love and support.

I applaud you on your decision. I couldn't believe all the incredibly difficult life issues you have been through this past year. I've been through many things in my own life including a divorce, breast cancer, dealing with my cerebral-palsied adult son, but these pale in comparison to what you have endured. You need rest, relaxation, more time, without the pressure of this newsletter, to enjoy your children. I will pray in particular for emotional healing for you. Enjoy this time and I'll be ready to read again when you are ready to come back! A friend in Cincinnati.

Sarah, you have been through so much and championed this incredible newsletter the entire time. You're amazing! Please, take this break and rest. I am going through something right now too, and I'm while not taking an official break, I am majorly slowing it down. I'm sending you love and support from afar. Take care!

Congrats and we won't be going anywhere. Wishing you healing rest for as long as you need it.

Yes! Take a *complete* break. It doesn’t matter how long it is as long as it’s what you need. You are more than this newsletter. And you’ve already created an incredible archive that can last any parent years of library and bookstore trips. Thank you for everything you’ve created. I hope you find everything you need to help yourself heal.
